Why give?
We rely on a Robin Hood / Pay-It-Forward business model with sliding scale payments.
A Robin Hood business model means that we offer some services (e.g., personal chef services) to those who can afford it to supplement offering other services (e.g., free food, cooking classes, workshops, YouTube videos) to those who can’t.
A Pay-It-Forward business model relies on voluntary generosity rather than set pricing. We provide services and then offer opportunities for you to pay for the next customer, make a donation, or barter as alternatives to conventional financial transactions. We believe in creating continuous cycles of community support and building shared value.
Sliding scale payments mean that you pay what you can / what you think the service is worth based on your financial capabilities. Not everyone has the same financial situation, and that’s ok! We feel that financial barriers shouldn’t prevent folks from being able to participate in community growth through food security, access, sovereignty, and education.
If you’re not able to give financially, please help support us by sharing your experiences, reviews, and testimonials on social media. Your word-of-mouth communication can help motivate friends, family, colleagues, and strangers to check us out and support us if they’re able!

Feedback
Like something we're doing? Let us know! Got some suggestions for how we could do things differently? Share it with us so that we can improve how we operate!
This form is anonymous so feel free to be honest. We encourage you to share specific details instead of abstract comments, as it’s hard to grow from generalities! We also encourage you to focus on things that are changeable, as we can only improve on what we can control. Thank you for helping us do better!
We are currently working on setting up a donation option.
In the mean time, if you would like to contribute, please donate through Zelle using the

Donate? But you’re a for-profit company!
That’s right! We’re not a 501(c)(3), and that’s intentional. Did you know that non-profit organizations are still businesses? They’re taxed differently than for-profits and have some structural differences, but they still need to make money to operate.
We believe that for-profit businesses should contribute responsible and sustainable products and services. We shouldn’t have to only rely on government public services and charities to do good.
We want to see more for-profit businesses that do good without the incentives of tax breaks but rather because it’s important to contribute positive business activities that aren’t littered with corruption and greed. We have to model the behavior we want to see in the world, so we started this for-profit LLC to serve as an example of how this type of community work can be done and still provide decent jobs with livable wages. So instead of selling you products and services at fixed prices through exploitation and without transparency, we want to represent an alternative.
We operate through principles of mutual aid:
Reciprocity
People give what they can and get what they need. It is a two-way street, distinguishing it from traditional charity or one-sided government assistance.Decentralized Action
Operations are run by community members for the community, rather than being managed by large, hierarchical charities or government agencies.Addressing Root Causes
While we offer free food as a band-aid solution for urgent needs of hunger, we also offer educational workshops and classes in order to address root issues of food insecurity, access, and sovereignty. We aim to support vulnerable populations when existing systems fail to provide adequate help.
Since we’re not a tax-exempt organization, we still pay taxes and your donation is not tax-deductible. But we feel that people want to help support small businesses, especially if they’re operating in ways that align with their values.
